I am just curious. I should have my credit debt, and my car paid off by summers end. That being said, I will still have student laons and possibly a mortgage. Is there anyone here that is debt free? Also, could you tell me how you there?

I am in the exact same boat as you. I worked super hard and paid down ALL of my credit card debt, which was sizable, due to being a moron right out of college, and own my car, but will still be paying on a small amount of student loans for a few more years. I’m also house shopping, so it seems like I’ll never be free of debt all together! It’s good to say you shouldn’t buy things you can’t afford, and for the most part that’s how I live, but I don’t think I can handle not buying a house until I’m over 50!

I’m 100% debt free, reason how, simply I’ve always believed in only spending money that I already have. I’ve never borrowed.

I am. I buy homes that are in pre-foreclosure and sell them. I hate working a 9 – 5 job so this is just perfect for me. I also don’t have to hire anyone to work on my properties since we are well versed in electrical, plumbing, roofing, etc….

Good luck to you! Set a goal and stick with it!

I am debt free – but I had to declare Chapter 7 bankruptcy to do it :( . . .

There is a very simple plan used by Dave Ramsey called the Total Money Makeover. We are debt free and it was simple to follow. Seven simple steps to debt freedom! You can do it too!
