I live in Alabama and the Statue of Limitations on Open Accounts is 3 years. I hired an attorney but he says that I probably will have to settle because it is not an open account but a written contract account which has a SOL of 6 years. He says this because the collection agency produced a piece of paper that I signed when I opened the account (basically it’s the credit card application). I researched on my own and most information that I found says that credit cards are always open accounts. I did find one place (Wiki Answers) where someone said that credit cards could be written contracts. Is my attorney wrong or can this indeed be a written contract in some way. I really need to know before I go to court. Please give me some type of solid backup to your answer and not just your opinion.

The score is low from charge offs about 3 years ago. Is there a certain bank or credit card that is easier on people like me that will give me a credit card? And yes–I do plan on paying on time. It would be for small simple purchases that I would otherwise buy with cash and could pay off easily each month.

I had 1 credit card for about 2-3 years and finally graduated college and am working full time. I also never had any problems with payments (never missed a payment in my life).
Yeah of course I pay in full. I once thought about not paying in full and realized that I’d miss out on that sweet grace period. ::drools::

I have always met the requirements for my checking accounts and paid all my credit card bills on time. As for loans, I do have about ,000 of student loans in debt. I was wondering if it is okay for me to get another credit card. Also, many say that having a lot of credit cards are bad for you. What is the reccomendation of how many bank accounts and credit cards should I have so that my credits would not go down? Thanks in advance!
