What is the purpose? I’m sorry if this is a silly question, but I don’t really get it.

And can you trade them in after you’re no longer a student for a "real" credit card? Do people just keep them forever? I always thought closing accounts lowered your credit score?

My credit score is 628. I also have a delinquncy with Chase, which I am trying to pay off now, but I want to get a different credit card in the mean time to make payments on that to increase my score.

        So what are some credit cards that will approve almost instantly with a credit score like that? I just want to get it to improve my credit.
