how to take apart the htc evo 4g for the many replacements that will need to be performed over the lifespan of the device. Make sure you disconnect the three ribbons from under the plastic sticker. DO NOT remove them completely from the device. This is a basic video. for a more in depth video please re-search youtube. Because the evo is a battery hungry hound the device will need recharged a lot, so odds are the usb port will wear out first and come off the mainboard and need replaced. in many cases the same used port can be reattached to the board if not damaged. DONT forget to remove the single phillips screw in the upper right corner in order to remove the mainboard after ribbons have been released.

Credit to Jiano for finding this. Credit to Mr. Potter for early sky cannon. 1. Fyer won’t even recognize that the sky cannon is in Lake Hylia until you give him Auru’s note. 2. If you have not gone to the desert yet, and then choose “special repairs” when speaking to Fyer, the game will freeze.

Turnigy 5000 mAh 3S Lipo Testing & Repair Questions | DOA from HobbyKing

Photos of Solder/Tabs here: picasaweb.google.com It appears (by testing the balance leads) that the cells are ok. Appart from being low in voltage (2 cells under 3Volts, fault of HobbyKing) the solder connections to the cell tabs seem to be in good shape. I need help figuring out if its worth trying to repair this new pack (unsoldering, etc). I have done some soldering for battery connectors and such, but this is much more dangerous and has to be done very carefully. Yes, Im shook. ======================================= This is the second Turnigy (out of 3) that has arrived from HobbyKing with cells that cannot be read on my Hyperion charger. Could be bad luck, but I am reading a lot of negative comments about this brand online. It’s a gamble: pay half what you would normally pay from “reputable” manufacturers and risk getting a bad battery. You cannot rely on the warranty they give you as their customer service is hard to reach, specially by phone. If you have the luck of receiving a credit on a purchase you will not get any credit on shipping, like it happened to me after I returned the first bad battery and received another bad battery! Those shipping costs I paid are not refunded and when you receive a refund for the product, they credit your HobbyKing account, not your credit card. Sneaky. If you think that buying from their “US Warehouse” will save you a lot of trouble in terms of warranty and returns, forget it, you have to do warranty returns to Korea. This is

Roland 106 Repair – Part 1

Taking a voice chip out of a Roland Juno 106 and sticking it in acetone to strip the resin. I figured out that Chip 4 was bad in my unit. I’ve never done any kind of electronics before so this just shows you how easy it can be (with a healthy dose of patience and a steady hand). First you should figure out what chip is bad. You can do this by powering on the unit while holding the key transpose button. Then hitting a key and watching the display cycle through numbers 1-6. If nothing plays on a number or the sound sustains on that number (hit different notes to hear it change pitch) then you know what chip it is. There is a great video on youtube that shows you how to strip the resin off a chip and hopefully repair it. This is apparently due to overheating and conductivity due to the old resin. Taking it out of the unit is pretty easy and you can search youtube for videos on how to open up the 106 and get the board out with the voice chips attached. I have never done any electronics work before so I practiced on an old VCR for an hour. I learned how to take out components and solder them back in until I felt comfortable. It helps if you have a few drinks before hand to steady your hand and nerves. Ok, probably not but it was Saturday and I’m all about the tequila on a Sat afternoon with nothing more to do than some trial electronics work. In part 2 I’ll figure out how to strip the resin and re-solder the chip back into the board and re-install into the 106 to test. All
